Unique Places To Take Creative Instagram Pictures

Unique Places To Take Creative Instagram Pictures

As someone who faithfully takes their own pictures, finding a location is arguably the hardest part. I have searched my city (and the internet) far and wide for places to take pictures. Today, I will list some of my favorite places to set the scene for your super cool Instagram photos.

1. Graffiti Walls and Murals

Doing a quick google search for “Graffiti Walls Near Me” will produce some interesting results. In my city, there is an entire arts district with over 15+ hand painted murals. These walls are great for adding colors and uniqueness to your pictures.

2. Nature/Outdoors

Outdoor scenery is a great place to make your pictures feel more authentic and natural. You can try outdoor locations like parks, gardens, and even your backyard. The best thing about these locations is that they are easy to find and almost always free to use.

3. Inside Locations (Arcades, Grocery Stores, Restaurants, etc.)

Taking pictures at inside locations oozes creativity. This is because most places have decor that is already tailored to create a specific vibe. You can try libraries, museums, arcades, restaurants, grocery stores, pretty much anywhere you can think of. Just make sure you get permission before shooting. These are my personal favorite locations to take pictures.

4. Color Matching Location

Matching your outfit to your background is a great way to make your pictures stand out visually. It’s a great way to catch attention on your posts and also a great choice for those who want your pictures to feel more cohesive.

5. Staples in your city (or Vacation spots)

You’re probably already familiar with landmarks around your city or town. But did you know that these could also make great locations for pictures? Just look at these pictures I took at my local drink vending machine and the ones I took downtown Atlanta during my last roadtrip.

Taking pictures is supposed to be fun and creative. So, the most important thing overall is to remember to be yourself no matter what location you use. Planning photoshoots is a great hobby and an even better way to express yourself creatively. Google searches, a tripod, and a cute outfit will be your best friends. Happy snapping!
